In and Around the Vagina is a piece showcased at the 2nd Annual Femme Nouveau Event, a feminist art event with the mission of "Manifesting the Muse- A night dedicated to the women who have ignited fires within us" in 2016. The piece aimed to expose the many foreign objects and items that a person with a vagina may encounter using the bathroom, on their menstrual cycle, during sexual activity and visits to gynecologists. My hope with the work is to encourage more conversations about women's bodies, sexual health, reproductive rights and the healthcare system in the United States.
